Ham and Cheese Bread Roll

This seemed kind of sosyal just by looking at it. But this ones kinda easy to make. And the ingredients are your usual finds on the fridge. My kids loves this and request for it often as their baon.

Ingredients:
  • 1 large Egg
  • 8 slices White Bread
  • 1/4 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 slices Ham, cut into 4
  • 8 slices Quick Melt Cheese, cut into 1/4-inch x 1/4-inch strips
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • Mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking Procedure:
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg, milk, salt and pepper until well-beaten.
  2. Trim edges of bread and flatten until thin using a rolling pin.
  3. Spread about a teaspoon of mayonnaise on the top side of the sliced bread.
  4. Arrange a piece of ham on the edge of bread and cheese stick on top on the ham.
  5. Roll bread into a log to enclose it. Repeat with the remaining bread slices.
  6. Dip bread rolls in egg-milk mixture and roll in bread crumbs until fully coat.
  7. In a frying pan, heat about 2-inch oil. Then drop bread rolls and fry until golden brown. Turn on sides and drain on wire rack.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:
  • You could occasionally use any strawberry or pineapple jam or any spread of your liking as an alternative for mayonnaise.
  • Press lightly on the seams of the bread to seal or you may use toothpicks and remove when ready to dredge on bread crumbs.
