Steamed Fish Tilapia

Pork Giniling with Quail Eggs

Pasensiya na kayo mga Kabayan! Kapuso! Kapatid! Kapamilya! Indulge!!!

Pork Dinuguan

Ika nga eh, labor of love.

Tsokolate Puto

Pata Hamonado

Uhhmmm!!! Heaven talaga!!! There's nothing like it....

Embutido

Puto Flan

Ever since I started cooking for this, my kids now request for it instead of the traditional cheese puto on their birthdays or on special occasions. Who wouldn't? Its like two of their favorite desserts rolled into one.

Chicken Sotanghon Soup

I recommended serving this soup during rainy seasons or feeling under the weather. Best served specially if your are having a fever, those would force the sweat out of you. Although during the time of this writing, the country is mourning with the passing of an inspiration and a champion of the law. We salute you Ma'am! May you rest in peace, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago....

Meatballs Soup

During rainy seasons specially when there is a typhoon. We usually cooked this soup for the very reason that it is easy to prepare. And it would only take a short amount of time to cook as well. And lets not forget that kids and alike love this very much.

Poqui poqui

At first it was like, WTF! How could I eat it, if I could not even pronounce it out loud specially in front of my children??? As it turns out. It was just "ensaladang talong" but originated and made popularized by the Ilocanos. Ok now I get it!

Ampalaya con Carne

Honestly speaking, this is the only time I eat ampalaya when this dish is served. I like it when it taste a bit sweet and spicy. So here in this recipe I added a bit of sugar and chili. So please bear with me. However, I guarantee you that it taste a lot better.

Sinigang na Salmon Ulo

The first time I've known this dish, was when I saw a TV show that gives reviews on restaurants found around Quezon City where they served home-cooked meal that were also relatively cheap. From the looks of the patrons and the host itself, I could say that it truly taste really really good. Did not waste any more time, the next morning I search for salmon fish which is rare in our area.

Ginataang Tahong

This is an enhanced variation of how I cook marine mussels or "tahong" in Filipino term. I used "mustasa" as my veggie instead of the usual "malunggay" to add a distinct taste to it. However, if you prefer "malunggay" go ahead. There's nothing wrong with it. Anyway, this packs a lot of vitamins and minerals which helps in your daily needs, such as, Vitamin B12, Manganese, Iron and Vitamin C.

Monte Cristo Sandwich

I usually prepare this sandwich whenever we have a not so fresh baked loaf of bread. My kids love it in their merienda in school or even while watching TV. This is quiet simple but it taste good and heavy. You have all the nutrients needed, packed in a sliced of sandwich.

Homemade Burger

Nowadays, we rarely eat burgers on fast-food restaurants except on diners. Because my kids now prefer my burger cooking style and recipe. Although this one is kind of spicy version than the regular recipes. But what the heck, what's with a little heat on the mouth. But I guarantee this one's a true winner!

Arroz Caldo

May it be for kids or kids at heart. This recipe is such a staple most especially on cold rainy days. I could also remember eating arroz caldo whenever I'm feeling a bit under the weather. My mom would usually cooked me this meal when having a flu or on cases wherein you're usually not in the mood for eating. Nowadays, expect to see this served on our table on Holy Thursdays and Good Fridays.

Chicken Curry

Growing up as a kid during the 80's, I would recall my mother cooking this very same dish every Sunday where relatives and friends would come to our house for a friendly visit. As you can see, this dish have both meat and vegetable in it. And not to mention it has a spicy and savory sauce that could really give true meaning to the famous Filipino phrase "sarsa pa lang, ulam na!"

Pork Afritada

This dish is a staple dish during birthday and Christmas celebrations here in the Philippines. For my son, you could not go wrong with this placed on top of plain rice. Although this dish have somewhat similarities with mechado, caldereta or menudo. But if you are a Filipino, you could practical state the difference of the four.

Lechon Manok

You could literally see a lot of food stands that sells this dish practically everywhere. However, nothing beats the taste of one home cooked meal. Though the preparations takes too long. But the satisfaction and the joy brought about by the taste. It just feels like heaven on earth.
